TicTacBase is built so you can play without creating an account or uploading a save file. The board state lives in your browser. AI moves and Hint work run in a Web Worker on your device. Closing the tab does not send your game to us as a “player profile.”

What stays on your device

  • Current board layout and marks (X / O)
  • Mode (vs AI, two-player, ultimate) and difficulty when applicable
  • Session score and short local UI state
  • Sound on/off preference (default off until you enable it)
  • Light / dark theme preference
  • PWA install dismiss preference for the Install chip

Clear site data, use a private window, or switch browsers, and those values start fresh. We cannot restore a game you wiped — it was never on our servers.

Accounts

There are none. No sign-up, no password, no cloud sync of your board, and no mailing-list wall before the first move. If you install the site as a PWA on a device that supports it, the install still points at this origin; it does not create a TicTacBase user database.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-CBSJGQ7CKS) for aggregate traffic — pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser, referral source. Analytics is not tied to your board state, Hint choices, or an account (we do not have accounts). You can play with analytics blocked.

Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Opt out with Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Ads

Display ads are not enabled today. Placeholders you may see in the layout are empty slots, not live networks. If ads turn on later, third-party networks may set cookies under their own policies, and this page will be updated. Ads will not sit on top of the playable board.

What may leave the device

  • Email you send us voluntarily (URL, screenshots, description of a bug)
  • Aggregate Google Analytics 4 traffic data — not boards or Hint choices
  • Normal host and security logs (IP, user agent, path, timestamp) for abuse prevention — not used to rebuild your game

Email

If you write to contact@tictacbase.com, we receive whatever you put in the message. We use that to reply or fix bugs — not to build a marketing list of “tic-tac-toe players” or sell addresses.

Children

The site is a general-audience game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children as a product feature. Gameplay data is local. If a parent believes a child emailed us personal details, contact us and we will delete that mail from our inbox when we can.

Changes

If storage behavior, analytics, or ads change in a way that matters, we update this page and the “Last updated” date. Acceptable use lives on terms. Questions: contact or contact@tictacbase.com.
